Jordi Torres (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) was one of the big winners of the weekend, coming in sixth in Race 2, his best finish since Portimao 2017, Race 2. He also managed to finish both races of the Dutch Round, the first time this year after a string of bad luck in all three previous rounds.

The Spaniard was caught in a five-way battle most of the race, a ‘mini-race’ in itself which Torres confidently won. He was pleased to finally see the results coming his way. “Honestly, we deserved it, the last few races were full of ups-and-downs, a lot of bad luck”, he says. “At the end we managed to show our consistency, we held very well our sixth place”.

The battle for sixth was one of the highlights of the day, with non-stop passes between the five riders. This experience was extremely valuable for Torres: “We were lucky to be able to battle with several other riders, now we know our strong points, our weak points, we have all that information”.

“For Imola, we’ll bring a lot of different components on the bike, and maybe that can help me to ride better”, he assures. “To enter faster on the corner or to brake later, this is our goal now because today we felt that we aren’t very strong in the last part of the braking, and we need to solve this”.

Torres moves up into 11^th in the championship standings with his 17 points at Assen, and with the bad luck he suffered in the previous rounds behind him, will be confident he can fight for higher goals as the season heats up.
